AVID

What is AVID? 

 

AVID is an academic support program designed for students who have a goal to attend a 4-year university right after high school.  Students are supported through tutorials with college tutors, binder checks, exploratory projects, college field trips, and other academic support activities.

Who is in AVID?

 

AVID students are capable students who just need the added support to attain their college goals.  When identifying the AVID candidate, the following criteria are considered:

 

•  2.5 - 3.5 GPA
• Citizenship & Attendance
• First-generation in the family will attend college
• Economically disadvantaged
• Historically underrepresented on college campuses
• Desire & Determination
